Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar or Sunil Gavaskar? Ravi Shastri gives a big decision on ‘comparison’ debate

The cricket world is hurting Virat Kohli’s shock test retirement. India’s largest red-ball captain, with a potential 68 to 40 wins, Kohli completed his career as the fourth highest run-song for the country, with 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85 with 9,230 runs in 123 tests. Ravi Shastri, who closely followed Kohli’s development during his tenure as the head coach of the Indian team, has labeled the 36 -year -old as the most influential cricketer of the last decade. On Kohli’s comparison with Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, Shastri held talks, but insisted that Delhi -born batsman “India played cricket”.
“I don’t like to compare. I have been asked about Gavaskar and Tendulkar. I was fortunate to share the dressing room with him. But I saw Virat with a different convenience – not only from the comfort of the broadcaster’s box, but only one dressing room can be detected through the pressure of the broadcaster. He could not know it, but not to play him, but not to play himself.
Shastri had a strong partnership with Kohli during his time as head coach and captain between 2017 and 2021. India was at the top of the test summit for about 3.5 years (about 42 months) and Shastri credited Kohli’s batting and was a binding factor behind the captaincy dominance.
“This test was an exciting conspiracy to win. His batting form was paramount for this reason, but it was not only about coaching, to score runs or take wickets. Credit should be given for excellent work by assistant employees, which gave India the best fielding side in the world. It was important for India’s success.
For records, Kohli scored 2,994 runs in an average 41 tests of 44.03 between 2011 and 2015, with 12 centuries and 12 fifties in 72 innings.
Between 2016 and 2019, Virat had one of the strongest batting prime for a Test cricketer, scoring 4,208 runs in 43 tests of 66.79, with 10 half -centuries in 16 centuries and 69 innings and the best score of 254*. It also included seven double centuries, which was the highest by a captain in Test cricket history.
However, since the turn of the decade, Kohli scored 2,028 runs in 39 tests at an average of only 30.72.
