San Francisco giant standout Third Basman Matt Chapman was placed in the 10-day injured list against hosts Colorado Rockies against hosts Colorado Rockies.
Chapman injured his hand during a Sunday game against Houston Astro. He blocked it back at the first basis at the bottom of the eighth innings and immediately displayed that he was in pain.
Chapman, 32, ended the game and passed through X-rays, which returned to negative. Nevertheless, the swelling remained the next day and then a step was taken on Tuesday.
The five -time gold glove winner is batting. 1243 with 12 Homeers and 30 RBI in 65 matches this season. He is in his second season with veterans.
The Casey Schmid will probably receive the highest duty on a third basis, while Chapman is sidelined. Schmid is playing in third place on Tuesday night and batting seventh.
The veterans recalled the Infielder Christian Kos from Triple-e Sacramento in a similar step. The 27 -year -old batted with San Francisco before this season.
