Alex Pirtrangelo has stepped away from Vegas Golden Nights for health reasons and his return is uncertain.
Vegas general manager Kelly Makcrimon said physical obstacles facing 35 -year -old defenseman include reconstruction surgery to deteriorate hip issues.
In 71 matches in 2024-25, Pietrangelo had 33 points (29 aids) and 10 points in Postsen Games. The two-time Stanley Cup winner and three times were the fourth overall pick by St. Louis Blues in 2008.
“The last few years have been very challenging on my physical good, and I am in a difficult position with my overall sports health,” Pietrangelo said in a statement on Monday night. “After searching for options with doctors -with my family, it is advisable to remove the intensity of hockey to see if my body can improve so that I can return to the general quality of life.
