Unmatched Liberty chased 10th win

New York Liberty has already set a record for its best start in the team’s history and now defending champions are getting closer to a league record.
Liberty tried to become a fourth team in WNBA history, against Indiana fever to open a season with at least 10 direct win in Indianapolis in Indianapolis, against Indiana fever, which is still without Ketlin Clarke.
New York (9–0) broke the franchise record for the best start on Tuesday when it scored 12 points on the Chicago Akash’s 85-66 domestic victory.
Liberty became the ninth team to open with at least nine direct win and 2012 Minnesota Links (10-0), 2016 Los Angeles Sparks (11–0) and 2016 Links (13–0), trying to join in Links (13–0), as the teams started a season with double-decit victory before their first loss.
New York won its sixth double points this season, when Sabrina Eansku scored 23 points. INESCU led the team to score for the third time in four matches and shot at 9 out of 14 after the missing 14 shots in an eight -point win in Washington on 5 June.
Liberty Jonquel was played without Jones (ankle sprain), while Nyara Sabli started in the frontcourt with Breena Stewart.
New York coach Sandy Brondelo said, “We have got new standards and our own expectations.” “It is coming to work every day and is making sure we are process -based. We want (winning championship) again. We know that it is very difficult. It is still difficult. There are areas that have got to be better, but it is a credit for the players, just how focused they are.”
Clarke will recall his sixth game with a quad injury, but some are participating in practice activities. Fever (4-5) is 2-3 without him. Indiana absorbed the most damage so far when she shot a season-36.2 per cent in Atlanta on Tuesday for 77-58 losses.
Kelsey Mitchell led the fever in scoring in two wins without Clarke, but was held for 11 points on shooting 5 -16 against the dream.
The fever can return to Sophie Cunningham from an ankle injury on 30 May. Cunningham remembered five matches, and the guard returned to practice this week.
“I feel really good,” said Cunningham. “I’m just trying to get withdrawal for Saturday, and so far.”
