Julius Randle scored 29 points on 13-for-18 shooting, and Minnesota Timberwells held their Western Conference in Minianpolis on Wednesday night to win the semi-final series to win 121–110 over Golden State Warriors to achieve the semi-final series.
Anthony Edwards ended with 22 points and 12 assistance for Minnesota, winning the best seven series in five matches. The Timberwells proceeded in the final of the conference, where they will wait for the winner of the semi -final series between Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nagets.
“It’s great,” Randle said about reaching the final of the conference. “We had a season filled with adverse conditions. Coach (Chris Finch) said at the end of the regular season that we did nothing as trades or firing coaches. We just stuck together, and we met it together.
“I am super proud of my team, everyone who stepped somehow this year. We got the victory number 8 (in the playoffs). We have to keep going.”
Brandin Podezamsky scored 28 points on 11 -for -19 shooting to lead the Golden State. Jonathan Kuminga added 26 points to the bench, and Jimmy Butler III left 17 points and six killers.
“It was a fight,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “I really are proud of our people. They were hung there and they were struggling all the way.
“(It) was a lot of change in our season, from where we were a few months ago to give ourselves a chance and there was a swing in a plate for some real occasions. We were there. We were there. Obviously it did not go in our way. Wolves were great, they were entitled to it. But I am very proud of our team.”
The warriors dropped their fourth direct game without Stephen Curry, who saw in road clothes from the bench. Curry injured her left hamstring in the series opener after the Golden State was headed to win the first round playoff series on Houston Rockets.
Kerr said about the challenge of playing without curry, “The injuries are part of the playoffs. I learned a long time ago that the playoffs are really about health and then just people move and make some big shots, do big plays in major sports. This is that every series decides.
“We are at both of his ends. It is just a part of it. There is no point in staying on it, and I don’t want to do anything away from completing Minnesota.”
Timberwells led 25 points late in the third quarter. The randals draped the ball from one end of the court to the other end and ended with a running paste to give Timberwells a 93–68 lead with 1:01 remaining in the third.
The Warriors pushed a set to cut down nine in the fourth quarter. Moses Moody dried the 3-pointer to play with 7:11 to bring the Golden State within 99–90.
Edwards later helped Minnesota to re -acquire a double -digit profit. He knocked a 3-pointer to keep Timberwells at the top 102-90, and Zeden McDanells increased 14 points with a stolen and a trimmed with the remaining 6:36.
“The team has come together at the right time and is playing its best basketball,” Finch said.
Timberwells led 62–47 at half.
Golden State fell behind 45–42, when Podzamsky created a jump shot with 4:11, which was half left.
Minnesota closed the second quarter for 17–5 runs to gain a 15-point lead. Randals scored the first half with a three -digit game after making a trimmed and pulling a dishonesty.
Timberwells shot 62.8 percent (49 out of 78) and 41.9 percent (13 out of 31) beyond the arc. The warriors shot 43.3 percent (39 out of 90) and 38.2 percent (11 out of 11) from 3-point range from the ground.
