Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming believes that fast bowler Ansul Kamboj may be a great addition to the Indian cricket team for the upcoming Test series against England. After the CSK match against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, Fleming said that the misleading speed and ability to hit the right length could prove to be quite useful in English conditions. The BCCI selectors are expected to choose the squad with some question marks on Mohammed Shami’s fitness this week.

“Kamboj is good. Her speed has been around 138–139 (KMPH). She is misleading and the ball always seems to hit the glove. Her big strength is her length, and she simply gets to stagger the ball. You have seen it in this year’s IPL. Fleaming said.

Kamboj was selected in a team for two matches against Lions of England in India and is also likely to attend the Intra-Squad match against the senior team. A good show in matches can prove to be important for its future as he can get a chance in the test series against England.

Fleming said, “He will be a full handful (under English conditions). He has got some real ability with both white and red ball. We are happy with his development and this year’s opportunity.”

He said, “He is shown great nature under pressure. But what exactly excite me how well he controls the ball when the situation gives him some help. It is a skill that is difficult to teach – it comes with instinct and he has it,” he said, “he said,” he said, “he said,”
