UFA Brock Nelson is pending for a 3 -year deal of avalanche ink

Forward Brock Nelson on Wednesday signed a three -year contract expansion with Colorado avalanche.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, although several media outlets reported that it was a total price of $ 22.5 million and its average annual price is $ 7.5 million.

The 33-year-old Nelson recorded 56 points (26 goals, 30 aids) divided into 80 matches between New York Islanders and avalanche in the 2024–25 season, acquired by avalanche on 6 March after spending an 11-plus session with the Islanders.

“My family and I am excited to live in Colorado,” Nelson said. “After spending our entire career with an organization, we were not completely sure what to expect when we arrived at Denver.

Nelson could become an unrestricted free agent on 1 July.

The avalanche general manager Chris McFarland said, “We are thrilled to arrive on an agreement with Brock to keep in Colorado for the next three sessions.” “He has long been a great center in this league, and he brings a dedicated work on professionalism and ice.

Nelson has scored a total of 587 points (301 goals, 286 assistance) in 920 career games. He was selected by the Islanders with the 30th overall pick of the 2010 NHL draft.
