Minnesota Twins on Wednesday exempted left -handed Joy Wentz from Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 27-year-old Ventz moved 2–1 with 4.15 ERA in 19 relief shows with pirates this season.
The first round pick by Atlanta Braves in 2016 is Ventz 8–18 with 5.40 ERA 97 games (26 beginning) with Detroit Tigers (2022–24) and Pirates (2024–25).
In the same step, the right-handed pablo lopez was transferred to the 60-day injured list after being placed on a 15-day IL last Thursday with a grade 2 strain of the terraced major muscle in its right shoulder.
Lopez is 5-3 with 29, 2.82 ERA and 61 strikes in 11 begin this season. The former All-Star is 59–52, with a 169 career to Miami Marlins (2018-22) and Twins with 3.84 ERA.
