CF Montreal may have sufficient speed to avenge the earlier loss to the Columbus crew, exiting its long-awaited first win of the season.

Two clubs at the opposite end of the Eastern Conference Standing Square in Montreal on Wednesday night.

After Montreal (1-8–3, 6 points) only Los Angeles Galaxy remains the winner, won 1–0 at New York City FC in the last weekend. Prince Ovsu’s goal proved to be the only crime of the match just out of Hafatime and it was just the sixth goal for Montreal this season, which has suffered six-grinds defeat in 2025.

Montreal defender Jalan Neil said, “We knew we had to do better, but we have not really been very low on ourselves, even when we were not getting positive results,” said Montreal defender Jalan Neil. “… we really wanted to show that we really care about this club, that we care about this season.”

One of those close Montreal necklaces came 2–1 in Columbus on 5 April. Ovsu, who posted half of his side’s target in 2025, also scored in the 50th minute of that competition. But Montreal was already 2–0 below the half-goal before Azil Jackson and Jacon Russell-Rowway.

It was part of the season-high three-match winning line for the Triumph crew (7–1-4, 25 points), who sits in the second place in the east, but the first place is tied with FC Cincinnati.

While Montreal is 0-2–1 at home this season, Columbus is 3–0-2 on the road. In the third minute of the second-half stop time, Sean Zavadzki’s target allowed the crew to reject a point through a 2–2 draw in Philadelphia in the last weekend.

“We respect every opponent, but no one is afraid,” said Columbus coach and pre-retric boss Wilfred Nancy. “We know that every game is important.”

This season, with two scores in this season, Zawadzki is one of the players of a five -ball five -ball. Russell-Rowway has just one goal in five matches, when he kept an eye on his fourth of the year and earned a assistance last month.

Columbus is 4–0-2 against Montreal since 2–1 domestic damage in August 2022. The most recent defeat of the crew in Montreal came in 2019.
