Colorado Cornerback Coleton Hood announced on Friday that he was transferring to Tennessee.

Hood was expected to take over for the Hesmen Trophy winner Travis Hunter in Buffaloz’s Secondary.

In 2024, he did 24 tackle and two interception in 13 matches for coach Dion Sanders in his lone session.

Hood, a native of Georgia, played his freshman season in Oborn, which appeared in four matches in 2023.

Hood told On3.com on Friday that he likes “culture and history” in Tennessee and the “reality” of Josh Hupel, head coach of volunteers.

Hood said, “He originally said that I can come in and play and be a big factor what is happening to them immediately.” “So I think it’s too big.”

He also said that he is excited to play close to the house and test his skills against opponents of the Southeast Conference.

“This is really big because I was just in Colorado, which is really far away, in fact, is really far from home,” the hood said. “So being able to get closer to the house is big for yourself.

“It’s appealing to go against the best. I proud to compete myself, so it is very attractive.”

Away from 10-3 seasons, Tennessee closed the 2025 campaign against Syracuse on 30 August in Atlanta.
