Toronto FC Part with Lorenzo Insign, Federico Bernardchi

Toronto FC on Tuesday announced a mutual farewell with Italian forward Lorenzo Insigni and Federico Bernardchi.

Toronto used two purchases of guaranteed contracts that MLS clubs are allowed each season.

Both players joined Reds as nominated players through the 2022 season, from Napoli to Insigne and Juventus. He was one of the most paid players in MLS.

31-year-old Bernardchi scored four goals and four assistance in 15 MLS matches this season, with Toronto to a 2024 All-Star’s four-year yoga 25 goals and 12 assistance in 88 matches (87 start).

Toronto general manager Jason Hernandez said, “After internal discussion with Federico, we were aligned that it was the correct moment the right moment.” “We want to thank Fede for his contribution to Toronto FC in the last three years and wishes him in the next chapter of his career.”

34 -year -old, Insigne scored a goal and received three assistance in 12 MLS matches this season, which offers 15 goals with Toronto 15 goals and 10 in 66 matches (56 starts).

“After many meaningful discussions, we are happy to find a solution that agrees to all the parties involved in it,” Hernandez said. “We wish Lorenzo to move forward.”

Bernardchi, who has been linked to a step of the Italian side Bologna, posted a farewell on social media.

He wrote on Instagram, “Every single day on the pitch, I gave everything that I had. All my passion. All my drives. I never keep myself back.” “I gave everything for this shirt, for this city, for my fans.”

“Now a new journey begins for me,” he said. “A new chapter, a new challenge. But with this city, with your people, will always be in my heart. Toronto FC, MLS: Thanks to this extraordinary adventure work. It’s not goodbye. It’s not looking at you soon.”
