Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Monday that it would close his cable network, including TNT sports, included in a new company.

WBD is dividing its qualities into two institutions, one of which is temporarily called a global network, which will serve as the original company of CNN and TNT sports. Another company, independent of global networks, will enter WBD’s film, TV and streaming holdings, DC Studios, HBO and HBO Max.

The global network will be played by the Gunar Widenfels, which is currently the CFO in Warner Brothers Discovery.

When it came into the game, TNT already faced a future. The company was excluded by NBC and Amazon for NBA rights, and TNT broadcast its final game of its current package with the conclusion of the final of the Eastern Conference.

TNT’s sports rights include the French Open, which recently concluded a two -week strong run with Coco Goff and Carlos Alakraj, winning a single title of women and men respectively; NCAA tournament; NHL, including Stanley Cup playoffs; And Major League baseball.

Making it even more complicated, all WBD’s sports broadcasting has been streamful on HBO Max, although CEO David Zaslav on Monday said on an investor call that he had not pushed many people to subscribe.

“Inside the US, the game is less important. It has been seen, but it has not been a real driver for us,” Jaslav said. “So it will continue on HBO Max, but the global network business will evaluate over time where the best place for it is.”
