Tim Safart to replace Jacob Bethel for Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2025 play-off

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday signed New Zonder Tim Safart as a replacement with England batsman Jacob Bethel, which would be unavailable for the IPL play-off due to national commitments. The replacement will be effective from May 24, BCCI said in a statement. Safert, who scored 1540 runs in 66 T20s for Blackcap, has already played three games in the IPL and has last painted in the tournament in 2022. He will join RCB for two crore rupees. “Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has signed Tim SEFart as Jacob Bethel is ready to leave the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) for England on May 24, 2025 – for England to join the England team after the RCB’s league -institute game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23, 2025.

Bethel’s last game with RCB will be on Friday when he will take Sunrisers Hyderabad. His final league game will be against Lucknow Super Veterans on 27 May.

Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians are other teams who have made play-offs.

Jose Butler, who is representing the Gujarat Titans, will also leave the play-off as a confrontation with the England home series against the West Indies.
