Tigers Sawyer Gypson-Long Returns to Major vs White Sox

The Detroit Tigers Right-Handing Sawyer Gypson-Long is set to end the 615-day gap from Major when it begins against hosts Chicago White Socks on Wednesday night.
The surgery of the right elbow in April 2024 and the left hip surgery last July have stopped the development of the Gypson-Long.
On September 28, 2023, the last pitch in Major, Gypson-Long started five minor league rehabilitation at four levels in May.
“I think he is learning how to pitch at this stage and learn to use his weapons,” said Tigers Manager AJ Hinch. “We continue to push him to throw him a strike. We have been continued to use our full arsenal to push him forward. The left -arm hitters become really important for him.
“They have done a good job that is to bring himself back into a competitive mindset, as contrary to reconsideration.”
