Three share lead on midpoint of US Senior Open

Atlanta’s Stewart Sink, Georgia saw his second shot from Rough Number 6 Fairway at the Firestone Country Club in the Firestone Country Club on Friday, 20 June, 2025 during the second round at the Firestone Country Club in Acrone, Ohio.

Stewart Sink shot Ireland’s Padrig Herrington and Australia’s Mark Hensby, the best round of the event, 4-in-under-Burbar 66, which above the US Senior Open at the Broadmore Golf Club in Colorado Springs.

“I love the fact that … I have not played great in these first two days,” Sink said. “I have played a great golf but nothing is fantastic.”

Harrington and Hansbi are co-leaders for the second straight day, again after matching 3-under 67.

Chasing his second victory of 2025, Sink opened his day at nine and gave a lot of buttons, posted a bogie at number 14, but otherwise shooting equally through his first 11 holes.

Then he got his stroke.

The 52 -year -old finished Burdies on a tremendous high note at Nos 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9, as he hit every green color a day.

“It was not that I dug deep and found anything,” Sink said. “I just kept doing only one thing and patience was rewarded.”

After winning the innercity invitational in May, Sink has maintained the fourth level in the Senior PGA Championships, which is third in the Kaulig Company Championships last week. Overall, he has done eight top -10 finish between 11 tournaments this season.

Herrington, who won this phenomenon in 2022, is getting stable results, but his luck on individual holes was slightly more uneven. He balanced six birds against three bogies.

Harrington said, “Most of the jockey for Thursday and Friday’s position, while maintaining myself in the tournament, is trying not to lose the tournament, but after today, I could find a few days between myself and the field and exited there.” “I have to go and do all this again in the next two days.”

Hansbi is demanding his second champions tour win, and like Harrington, he was slightly up and down. But while Harrington spread both positive and negative holes throughout his round, Hansbi saved most of his plays for his last nine holes, which he played on the front nine.

After opening with a bogey and a bogi in its first three holes and with six straight pars, Hannby Bird, Paar, Burdy, Burdi, Bogi, Paar, Bogi, Burdi, Burdi moved.

Hansbi said, “I really played nine and then made a good start to the nine in front.” “Then there was a little scratch.”

In fourth place alone is Thomas Byorn of Denmark, who falls behind the leaders after the shooting of 1-under 69.

The tournament, Bill Andred (69) and South Korea’s Yang (68) have finished fifth to two players.

Steve Flesh (70), Darren Clarke (68) of Northern Ireland and Miguel Angel Jimnez (70) of Spain are ranked seventh under 1.
