“Three hernia were on, bed rest”: RCB star Suyash Sharma revealed ahead of IPL

The Royal Challengers ahead of the Chennai Super Kings of Bangalore, Rising star Suyash Sharma reflected his firm dedication to play the game despite his challenging journey and injury. The 21 -year -old revealed how he earned his first IPL contract with defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders before switching to RCB. “I had never played in a proper tournament before the IPL. I only played under -25. I had spent six or seven years in the trial, but was ever selected. Every time I visited my parents, they asked when I would get a chance in IPL.
“After the under -25, I went for the IPL trial. At that time, my googly was very fast. I think I took eight wickets out of ten wickets in a match, it was a KKR practice match, and even wicket -keeper was being defeated when I was selected.
“Before the IPL, I was resting on the bed for three months. I started bowling two weeks before the tournament. But during those three months, I imagined everything. I kept thinking about my bowling all day. I confirm in my head. I will plan each ball: First I will bowl like this. I had to make it ready.”
The spinner thanked RCB for handling his surgery in London and getting ready for IPL 2025. “RCB sent me to London for his surgery. There, I met James Pipy (RCB team Physio). He and his family treated me like a family. I didn’t expect to play three or four matches. Thankfully I am in this franchise,” he said.
“I’m fit now. I was suffering from pain for the last two years. I was used to play in pain. The problem is that if you are playing for India or franchise, you can manage. When I was not playing, I was hurt, but I didn’t know it. The best is for the best,” Suyash said.
On handling his IPL debut and Big stage pressure against RCB, the young man said, “I had a lot of pressure against RCB. I had never gone to watch the match before. I had never seen so many people in the crowd. The atmosphere was crazy. Until you bowl in a match, you don’t know what I can’t do.
“My mind was empty. But whatever I had done, I tried to do it. After the first over, everything settled. I could see the crowd. I could always know the moment. I always knew that I would play in the IPL, 101 percent. But I did not think it would happen soon. I was 19 years old. I was 19 years old. I was 19 years old. I would have made debut in myself 24 or 26. I always believed in myself.
Asked about his goal for the season, Suyash replied, “I have only one goal that we win this year and pick up the cup. This is my only goal right now.”
