Three Americans in ATP Top 10 for the first time since ’06

Ben Shelton finished a career-high 10th position in the ATP Tour World Rankings released on Monday, giving the United States three men in the top 10 for the first time in about two decades.
Shelton joined the number 4 Taylor Fritz and No. 8 Tommy Paul in April 2006 to mark the top -10 American trio before Andy Rodik (No. 4), James Blake (No. 7) and Andre Agassi (No. 10).
“It’s really good. A large milestone in tennis,” Shelton said after reaching the semi -finals in Stuttgart, Germany on Friday and learning his adjacent ranking.
After the ranking begins in 1973, the 22 -year -old left -arm left -arm top 10 top 10, after joining the Jimmy Consors, John Mechano and Rosco Tanner.
After his victory in the stutgart, Fritz stepped into three places. Paul closed last week after reaching the quarter -finals at the French Open.
On Monday, the rest of the top 10 have seven players from seven different countries, headed by World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, Spain’s No. 2 Carlos Alkraj and Germany’s Alexander Zerev.
