“This is under our control …”: Mumbai Indians Coach’s big comment is ahead of the important Delhi Capital Clash

On Tuesday, head coach Mahela Jayawardi said that Mumbai Indians were always “in controversy” to create an IPL playoffs after the winning of six matches in the season and the team needed to stay in a position to decide his fate on Tuesday. The five -time IPL winners will need to win against the Delhi Capital here on Wednesday, with the other three along with Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings for booking fourth and final place in the playoffs. However, a disadvantage would mean that the MI will have to depend on the result of the competition between DC and PBK on 24 May.
“We were always in controversy for the playoffs, when we went to us. For us, it is good to start the tournament (again) and play cricket, people are waiting for this, the training has been very good and take a game at a time,” Jayverdin told the media during MI training.
“This is under our control, this is a great position to be here. The message for me was to make sure that we have our routine, our procedures, the way we train, the way we plan, and the way we have gone about this tournament.” He said, “It is better to be under our control and to see that situation, so we have played good cricket to live in that situation, and we will go out and try and play our best game of cricket tomorrow,” he said.
With an additional time of one hour in all matches in all matches in sports from Tuesday, Jayawarene said that it could not help in case of severe rains.
He said, “Obviously the weather is threatening most sports and it is a decision that they have taken collectively. If it helps it helps, but if you have severe rains, I don’t know that extra hours are going to help,” he said.
“But as long as we can get a game with extensions … everyone wants to play cricket game instead of playing,” Jayawardi said.
Jayawardene did not talk much on the fact that the players from England and South Africa are ready to leave the IPL before the playoffs begin.
He said, “The same is going to happen for most of those teams that are already eligible. They are going to be in the same position, so I have not thought that even further,” he said.
He said, “We have clearly named the three whom we are looking to bring. Two of them (Richard Glison and Charith Asanka) are already here. I think Johnny (Bairstow) will come tomorrow (Wednesday),” he said.
A winning position with MI is facing the position, Jayawardi compared it, which he had faced earlier in the competition.
“We were in a position when we were 4–1 after five matches. For us, every game should win from that situation (and) the boys reacted very well,” he said.
He said, “(even) the final game (against GT), we gave ourselves a great opportunity. We really fought well after the mistakes, so cricket-wise, I am not worried. I am not worried. Cricket brand we are playing, reacting to situations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Munaf Patel, former India’s Pesar and a bowling coach of Delhi Capital, said that his side would remember Mitchell Starc in this competition.
He said, “This will be important because he is our main fast bowler, who bowls at a speed of 145 km per hour, rotates the ball and he is also on the Wankhed wicket, where both swing and bounces are available,” he said.
He said, “It matters 100 percent, but when there is no alternative, you have to think about other options, you cannot get stuck thinking ‘Oh that’s not now, what will happen?’
Patel said that KL Rahul, who is near the 500 -run mark in this IPL and coming in the game after an unbeaten century, suggested that he would switch to the initial slot to help the cause of the team.
Patel said, “He is exceptionally batting, he has scored all the positions. Whenever the team is needed, he puts his hand.”
He said, “He only suggested that he would open the innings because the initial pair was not settling down and went to earn a hundred,” he said. PTI DDV DDV AH Ah
