“This is ‘Indian’ Premier League”: Shreyas Iyer’s strong message on foreigners at IPL Restart

IPL 2025 is scheduled to resume Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday with Bengaluru on Saturday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. The BCCI on Thursday directed the IPL franchise to release the latest to eight WTC-bounds South African players by 26 May, making them unavailable for the play-off. In an advice for the teams, the BCCI also stated that the West Indies players will be available for the remaining of the tournament that was suspended last week due to the India-Pakistan military conflict.
South Africa should gather in the UK on 31 May, while the play-off begins on 29 May, and the date also marks the onset of England’s Home White-Ball series against the West Indies. The BCCI told teams in an official communication, “South African players will have to return to the latest South Africa by Monday, 26 May. West Indies players will be available throughout the tournament.”
