“They were all so frightened, Derryl Mitchell said that he will never go to Pakistan again”: PSL Star

Bangladesh’s leg-spinner Rishad Hussain, who was playing for the Lahore Kalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, shared terrible tension between the nation and India amidst the increased tension. He revealed that foreign players were nervous as they tried to go out of Pakistan. The spinner opened it after making it for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from where the players connected flights to reach their homes. In particular, PSL 2025 was decided to postpone the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for a week by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
“Foreign players such as Sam Billings, Derryl Mitchell, Kushal Perera, David Visé, Tom Curan … All of them were very frightened … descending to Dubai, Mitchell told me that he will never go to Pakistan again, especially in such a scenario. Overall, all, they were all frightened,” they were all afraid, “the Rashad said,” Rishad said after reaching Dabai.
Giving details of how frightened the foreign players were, Bangladesh’s spinner said that England’s cricketer Tom Curan also ended crying and some people needed to comfort them during the challenging time.
The Rishad said, “He (Tom Curan) went to the airport, but heard that the airport was closed. Then he started crying like a small child, that two or three people were engaged to handle him.”
Nahid Rana was another Bangladesh player who attended PSL 2025, which was part of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise. The Rishad revealed that he consoled his compatriot and hoped him.
He said, “Nahid Rana was very calm, perhaps for stress, as I understood. I kept asking him not to be stressed and hopefully nothing will happen to us. Alhamdulillah we arrived safely from Dubai,” he said.
It was very real for the families of the players that to be worried about whatever is happy between India and Pakistan during the increased tension.
The Rishad said, “Alhamadulillah, we have reached Dubai after overcome a crisis and I am feeling good now.”
“After landing in Dubai, when we heard that a missile attacked the airport 20 minutes after flying from the airport. The news was scary and was sad and now we are feeling relieved after reaching Dubai.
“Whenever I go out to play, my family worries for me whether the situation is good or not and now that they heard the news about Pakistan-so the bombing and missile-stroke here and there were stressed here and there.
He said, “I personally tried to console them and told them not to worry about me and they were quite normal.”
For now, India and Pakistan agree on the crease.
