“The ultimate goal is to play for India”: Delhi Capital Star Abishek Porl on his purple patch in IPL 2025




After a rare defeat in his previous clash, Delhi Capital (DC) bounced back into style as he registered a comprehensive eight-dicet victory against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Ekna Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday. To bowl first, the party led by Exer Patel kept a clinical show with the ball, which has taken four wickets in four wickets from Pacer Mukesh Kumar and limited the opposition to 159/6 in 20 overs. Later, Delhi’s capitals rode on some good batting performance from Youngster Abishek Porl (51 runs 36), wicket-keeper Batter KL Rahul (57* 42 to 42) and Skipper Exer (34* 20) to go to the 18th over.

During the post -match presser, Poral, considering the victory, said as a quotation of the Delhi Capital Press Release, “I always believed that we would chase the goal. The wicket was playing well, and we really bowled well, especially in the middle overs. So, I was very confident.”

Talking about my own batting and his role in this season, the left -handed batsman said, “I am enjoying myself. I have discussed with Hemung (Budni), Sir, and Kevin Peterson. Whatever conversation I have, I just try to work on it and do it during the match.”

Poral said, “The support staff clearly asks me to play with an independent mindset. The coach, captain and all senior players have been very helpful, and everyone returns me.”

Asked about his future goals, wicket-keeper Better said, “Obviously, the final goal is to play for India. But I am currently focusing on scoring runs for Delhi capitals and helping the side win the trophy.”

The 22 -year -old also praised Pacer Mukesh Kumar for his bowling. “Mukesh (Kumar) is the one who supports his strength. He is a very hardworking person. He works a lot in behavior, especially on his yorker.”

Delhi Capital now has six wins and 12 points from eight matches and has been placed at number two in the points table.
