Mohammed Shami’s struggle is moving towards an extended run of disappointment, suggesting that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is ready to snub experienced pace for England’s 5-Match Test Tour. Shami was not part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia due to peak issues, and his clear ‘long-term bowling’ is now ready to give him a place in the Test side for the tour of England, which despite the rich experience he brings to the table.

Shami is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2025 season, although her poor form has seen the franchise liked other options in recent matches. According to a report in the Indian Express, the BCCI Medical Team has informed the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar that Pesar is not ready to bowl to Full Throatal in a Test match. Therefore, the possibility of selecting him for seizures is tarnished.

“Shami is bowling four overs in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, but the boards and the selectors do not know that he can bowl more than 10 overs in a day. Test matches in England may demand a mantra for a long time, and we cannot take possibility,” the paper said a formula.

Shami is considered unqualified for selection, the report claims that left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is likely to earn her first Test call-up for the series. Haryana Right-Arm Seemar Anishul Kamboj, who has 74 wickets out of 22 first class sports, is one of the candidates who change Shami in the team. In fact, Kamboj has already been selected to visit England for India.

The report claimed that the BCCI Selection Committee is expected to meet in a few days and announce the squad for the tour of England. Shubman Gill remains the number 1 candidate to convert Rohit Sharma into India’s full -time Test captain, although there are some who favor Jasprit Bumrah for this role.
