Team Spirit, Gimin Gladiators, Arora Gaming and Natus Vinsare improved 2–0 in PGL Walchia season 5, with a victory in Bucharest, Romania on Sunday.
In round 2 of the five-day group, Spirit Edge 2–0, Gimin Gladiators vacated the team’s tidebound and Arora defeated Xtreme Gaming with the same score, while Natas Vinsre won 2–1 over the team liquid.
The group phase runs from Wednesday and a revised Swiss system features 16 teams. All matches are the best of three. Eight teams will proceed to the playoffs, which are double elimination and run by 26-29 June. All playoff matches are the best of the three except the final, the best of the five.
The award pool contributes $ 1 million, with the winner taking $ 350,000 home.
On Sunday, Spirit won a 25 -minute win over the Red on Green for sweep in 72 minutes. GG defeated Tidebound in 42 minutes on red and 29 minutes on green, while Arora wrapped things on red and 33 minutes green against Xtreme in 34 minutes.
In the second match between 1-0 teams, Natus Vinsare opened with a 36-minute win over Lal, then lost to the team Liquid in green time 44 minutes. Navi bounced back to win Lal in 33 minutes to win the Du-or Dai third map.
