Team India cricketer Deepti Sharma grieved 25 lakh INR? UP Warriz players under scanner

In a startling revelation, India cricketer Deepti Sharma has been allegedly duped of Rs 25 lakh by fellow state player Arushi Goel. Not just that, the player has accused Goel of breaking into her Agra flat and stealing valuables, including jewellery worth 2 lakh.

Deepti Sharma Duper by Fellow Cricketer?

ACP (Agra Sadar), Sukanya Sharma, said, “Deepti’s brother, Sumit Sharma, approached the Sadar police station with the complaint. Prima facie, we found some truth in the complaint and filed an FIR under BNS sections 305 (a) (theft), 331 (3) (house breaking), 316 (2) (criminal breach of trust) and 352 (insulting someone with the intent to provoke a breach of peace), as per The Times of India.

The FIR said: “The two cricketers became close over the years through their association in the same team. Then, Arushi and her parents started exploiting Deepti financially, citing family emergencies and financial distress.”

Arushi Goel’s Name Under Scanner

Deepti’s brother further stated, “My sister lost over Rs 25 lakh in the two-year period. When she confronted Arushi, the latter refused to return the amount.” All this came to light, when Sumit tried to enter the flat, but couldn’t. “The incident has caused significant distress to Deepti, who is at the moment preoccupied with her training commitments and is preparing for the Team India camp in Bengaluru ahead of England tour,” he added.

It is important to note that, Goel was also part of the UP Warriorz Squad for WPL 2025, that Deepti Sharma captained. Although she did not get to play any of the matches. Meanwhile, the 27-year-old is yet to comment on the entire allegation.
