With a 3–0 lead, Cleveland pulled Bibi in favor of Tim Herin in the eighth, and Tigers started a rally. Detroit loaded the targets when a walk, an infield single and a fly ball that Lane Thomas lost the ball in the light.
Cad Smith came to Herin and set it on fire, Akil Badu, Zach McMantiry and Riley Green were thrown out.
In the ninth, Cleveland left a two-run double by Martinez to deal with 7–0 on four runs, serving as a signature shock.
Matt Festa reached 1-2-3 ninth place to help Cleveland complete the five-hit shutout.
JV Baiz made two hits for Detroit, which is the best record in Major.
After three scorer innings, Guardian broke with two runs in the fourth. After Ramirez’s aout single and after a walk for Manzardo, Carlos Santana made a two-run double for a gap in the right-center.
In the fifth, Martinez hit a single home run in the right area to give Cleveland a 3–0 lead.
