Suryakumar Yadav T20S is equivalent to the world record of Temba Bavuma for the highest 25 plus score, puts Mi on top

Suryakumar Yadav scored his fourth fifty of the IPL 2025 season, scoring 583 runs in total this year.

583 runs in 13 matches, and the third largest run-run-ear-run in IPL 2025. His innings consisted of seven four and four sixes, scoring at a strike-rate of 209 in the last five overs, after slowly starting.

In fact, he scored 21 runs in the final over of the innings, against Dushmanatha Chamera, to take MI to a furious 180/5 in 20 overs, to take a dull Wankhed pitch. To bat at 48/2 in 5.3 overs, Suryakumar Yadav ensured that he remained at the wicket for a very end, and made a significant partnership on the way.

However, this is not the most important achievement for Surya. He has now equaled the world record with Tamba Bavuma, for most of the 25+ scores in T20S. In 2019-20, Bavuma set a record for 13 such scores, and now Surya has done the same. If this is not enough, he now holds a record for a maximum of 25+ scores, overall in IPL, jointly held in 2023 with Shubman Gill, and Kane Williamson in 2018.

Returning to the match, first he added 55 runs with Tilak Verma, and then with a 57 partnership in 21 delivery along with Naman Dhir. After his classic show, the batsman said, “This is an innings that I was expecting for a very long time. A difficult situation I go to the bat and I try to bat till the end and get a score that is probably a little above.”

Responding to whether it was difficult to bat on this wicket, he said, “It was a slow wicket with the season, but we had to dig deep, we talked about it during our practice sessions. We knew that the wicket is going to happen in this way, so we planned the same way and we bat in the same way.”

Now, Surya Orange Cap holder is within the distance of Sai Sudarshan, who has 617 runs in the league so far.
