Storm to be hot by finishing short-handed liberty

Nneka Ogwumike scored a season-high-tie 26 points including a major 3-pointer in the last two minutes, as the Seattle Storm subdued the Short-Hand New York Liberty 89-79 on Sunday.
The 3-Poanter of Ogwumike, who played late in the shot clock, gave the benefit of six points to Seattle (9-5) with 1:29. His retrenchment with the help of Gabi Williams with 34 seconds remained sealed the result.
Skyler Digins pairing 20 points and six aid for the storm, while Williams filled the state sheet with 12 points, 10 aids, six rebounds and four stolen. Seattle used aggressive defense to fuel his victory, 13 stolen and converted 21 turnover into 22 points.
Breanna Stewart scored 18 points, caught nine rebounds and received seven assistance for New York (10-3). Marine Johannes added 17 points in the first half, 12 and Ribka Gardner in 12.
Stewart created a free throw with 2:20 to pull Liberty-that was within 10–77 at the beginning of 10 in the fourth quarter. Natasha Claude replied with a paste of Ogwumike’s Mederange Jumper with a 1:52 mark, so that the margin could be cut into three again, but it was close to New York.
New York started four-game Western Road Trip without three starts, including its two star players. The loss of Phoenix was already down to 4 to 6 weeks after being injured in the loss of Phoenix, Liberty declared Skrina Eansku out with neck tightness, steep on Friday from the team’s cross-composition flight.
But New York was able to make it a good game as Johannes replaced its first seven shots, including three 3-pointers. Four late in the second quarter before Seattle, Liberty held rallies for a 43-42 lead on a break.
The turnover points increased the storm at the beginning of the storm in the third quarter. They went up nine up to the 5:48 mark on the 3-populator by Ogwumike, which helped by Turnover from Stewart and Cloud, scoring 10–2 runs. Seattle took advantage of 68-61 in the fourth period.
