Wilson said, “This is amazing in my home state, 2 -for -2. I am no longer in Iowa, but still winning at home here, which is always good. So (in) the Hawkai kingdom, still unfamiliar.
“It was great that was able to run through the field. … I made some three-wide moves that were very bold, but I knew that I would have to defeat Novak through traffic to win the race.”
Novak said that after its third runner-up result of the year, “I really don’t know what to say. Just not so good. In fact, really disappointing. The car was good, the strategy was clearly good. …
“It was fully played for us. We had fresh tires. If we could start in the lead, it was good, but it was definitely not enough how it was played.”
The series continues on 24 June on a virtual dover (del.) motor speedway.
