Sresanth was suspended for 3 years on controversial comments in Sanju Samson Ro

The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has suspended former India’s Pesar Sreesanth for three years for three years for allegedly making false and derogatory statements in connection with the controversy around Sanju Samson’s omission from the Indian team for the Champions Trophy. KCA said in a statement that the decision was taken in its special general body meeting held in Kochi on 30 April. Sreesanth is currently the co-owner of Kollam Arees, a franchise in the Kerala Cricket League.
Earlier, in relation to his controversial remarks, show-Karan notice Sreesanth as well as franchise teams Kolm Aris, Alappuzha team leadership and Alappuzha Repuls were also released.
The statement said, “Since the franchise teams had given satisfactory reactions to the notices, no further action would be taken against them. However, the meeting decided to advise the members to take more precautions while appointing the team management.”
The general body also pledged to file a compensation claim against Sanju Samson’s father, Samson Vishwanath and two others to use the name of Sanju Samson against Sanju Samson Vishwanath and two others.
KCA issued a show-causal notice to Sreesanth-which was part of the India squad who won two World Cup titles-a panel on a Malayalam television channel for his comment during a panel discussion during a panel discussion.
In a statement, KCA clarified that notice was not issued to support Samson, but to make misleading and defamation -related comments against the association.
During the television discussion, Sreesanth allegedly supported Samson and vowed to protect him and other Kerala players, leveling the allegations against KCA.
His comment came amid criticism by KCA to leave the Kerala squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which was believed to have influenced his possibility of being selected for India’s Champions Trophy team.
