
Washington Spirit signed the Sophia Cantor on Tuesday, making him the first Italian player in NWSL history.
The cantor comes through the transfer from Juventus FC in Italy and a three -year deal is signed with a 2028 team option.
The 25 -year -old cantor is eligible to join the Spirit on 1 July, when the FIFA Summer Transfer Window opens. She will capture an international roster slot.
“Sophia is an important signature for this Spirit Team because we continue to build our roster to compete for trophies,” head coach Adrian Gonzalaz said. “It will help add a new layer to the soul of extraordinary talent to move forward in the third who has a broad experience and attack in Italian leagues.”

The cantor made her professional debut with Fammonza of Italy in 2015 before leaving Juventus in 2017. He spent time on loans with Helus Verona (2019-20), Florentia (2020–21) and Sasuolo (2021–22), received 120 assistance with 40 balls and 120.

Internationally, the cantor has scored five goals in 37 matches with the Italian national team since his senior debut in 2020.
