Obed Vargas and Noahou Tolo gave each a target and assistance to each as Seattle Soundlers defeated St. Louis City 4–1 in a Western conference match on Saturday night.
Danny Mussovski and Albert Rusak also scored and the replaceable Ryan Kent had a support pair for sounders (4-3-4, 16 points), who extended their unbeaten streak to four matches (3–0-1).
Marsel Hartel prolonged for St. Louis (2–5–4, 10 points), who is the winner in its last seven matches (0–5-2).
Wargas broke a 1–1 tie over a Nifty Give-and-Go Penalty Area from Kent in the 61st minute. Slavas shot from 12 yards distance away from the defender Timo Bomgrt and nearby.
Musovski helped win by scoring in the 81st minute. He took a cross with his back on the net from Nahu, exploded a shot, then a shot from the leg of the goalkeeper Ben Lundt and the right part of the net. It was Mussovski’s fourth direct match with a goal as he fills for the injured Jordan Morris (Hamstring).
Nohou gave the crowd to a frenzy to prolong the other-half stop time from one pass from Kent to a frenzy.
The teams traded the penalty before the first half -midway point.
St. Louis called the sounders’ defender Yimmer Gomez Andrade for tripping in the 29th minute, as the sedric tour was draped with the end line. Hurtle took a penalty and used a hop-step on the way to the ball, then rolled it to the right of the net after seeing the goalkeeper Stephen Free in another way.
A few minutes later, Paul Rothrocrock of Seattle took a pass to the left of the penalty area on a reversal and draped back to the center of the pitch inside the 18-yard box. Rothrocrock tried to divide three defenders and went down from Bomgartal after a push. Referee Lorenzo Hernandez immediately pointed to the spot and Russian shot a one in the middle as Lundt went to his left.
The sounders excluded St. Louis from 31-7, with 9–4 edges in the frame attempts.
