Sooners proceed to the 9th Strait Women’s College World Series

Four-time national champion Oklahoma Suers is returning to Oklahoma City after defeating SEC rival Alabama 13–2 in five innings of Norman Super Regional on Saturday to earn a place in the Women’s College World Series for the ninth season.
50-9 suins also did the ninth consecutive year of winning at least 50 games-the longest active streak in Division I.
Last year, Oklahoma made history by becoming the first program to win four direct national championships. Sooners will certainly be favored to extend the run to five after proceeding with a major win over Alabama, during which Gabbi Garcia clubed two of Oklahoma’s four domestic runs.
With her ninth direct visit to the Women’s College World Series, the Oklahoma went to the second all-time to continuously showing on the final site of the tournament, located about 20 miles from the home city Norman of Sooners.
Only Arizona – from 1988 to 2003 with 16 direct appearances – saw a long run compared to Oklahoma.
Should Suuners win the national title again, the program will be second in itself with nine championships. UCLA holds records with 12, followed by Oklahoma and Arizona.
