Sonia Citron guides mysticists to win OT on wings

Sonia Citron made a Go-Foreward 3-Pointer with 12.2 seconds in overtime and host Washington Mistics kept Dallas Wings away from 91-88 in a back-end-welfare competition on Sunday afternoon.
After a missed free throw by late Citron in the fourth quarter, Dallas Star Paige Beukers performed their first 3-pointer of the night and tied the game at 84. Washington was unable to convert two late shots, which was sent to overtime.
Beukers scored the first four overtime points, but Shakira Austin matched Washington with the first four points. Citron broke the tie with the fourth three of his game, with the help of Austin, and Washington.
Citron led the route with three to 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4-for-7 shoots for Washington (6-8). Austin put in 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and was a game -high plus -22 in court.
Kiki Irafen’s 19 points, seven rebounds, six assistance and five stolen and Sug Satton scored 15 runs on the correct 4 -for -4 shooting.
The game reversed recent trends for both teams. For Dallas (3–12), ARIKE OGUNBOLE led 27 points after struggling with the field in Friday’s game in Connecticut. Bukers were cool in the first half, but hit almost every clutch basket for Dallas, finishing with 20 points.
Washington dug himself in his two most recent games in early holes, but quickly installed on Sunday.
The mystic jumped for a 11–1 lead by Sutton. The guard scared a stepmother to open scoring for Washington, then stole the ball from Aziah James and gave it to Irafen for a three -digit game.
Stout Defense-Wings shot 2-for-14 from the ground-and concrete shoots brought Washington’s lead to 27–14 by the end of the quarter.
Ogunbole scored seven quick points during the second period as Dallas reduced its deficit. Mystics also fell into dishonesty. Washington obtained two technical fouls, leaving Ogunbole and Beukers three-point plays and left its lead by Haftime, as Wings proceeded from 45–40.
After attempting to score only two field goals in the first half, the Beukers started more aggressively with four attempts in the first four minutes of the second half. He scored six runs in the quarters for a 69-62 Dallas lead after three.
Ogunbole scored the first six points of the fourth quarter wings, but Washington limited the lead to 75–74. Iriafen had left about two minutes in regulation to give their first lead to mysticists since 3:49 in the second quarter.
In the season, the third major scorer of Dallas, Dijonai Carrington, was out with Rib injury.
