Stylish opener Smriti Mandan in an inch to retrieve the world number one place in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, which reached one place after playing an important role in India’s victory in the recent three-nation tournament in Sri Lanka. Recession, who last scored the top ranking for ODI batsmen in 2019, was in excellent touch during recent matches against Sri Lanka and South Africa, scoring 264 runs in five innings to end as the second major run-scorer in the tournament.
Mandana, who slammed 101-Ball 116 in the final against Sri Lanka, is just 11 rating points away from South African captain Laura Volvardt at the top position, who scored just 86 runs during the Tri-Series.
Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapathu built land within the top 10, as she reached seventh positions after scoring 139 runs during it, while Gemimah Rodrigues (five spots in 15th place) and Chloe Trin (18th from nine places) also improved.
India’s spinner Sneh Rana was designed as a series player in Sri Lanka and was one of the big movers in the updated list for experienced twicker bowlers, who are still headed by Sophie Eclestone in England.
South Africa’s Seemar Nadin de Crolack also secured a place to move 24th in the list, while Rana jumped four spots in the Tri-series after his 15 wickets.
Australia’s Aish Gardner retained his place in ODI cricket as No. 1, in which Deepti Sharma of India improved the fifth place in total after some impressive efforts in Sri Lanka.
There were also benefits for Tritten (three places in 11th place) and D Crolack (four places in 12th place).
