Sirj fined the celebration, Docket spared despite climbing the first shoulder

Mohammad Siraj has been fined 15% of his match fee for his aggressive celebration against Ben Docket.
India cricket team pacer Mohammed Siraj has ben penalized for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct on Day 4 at Lord’s. The incident occurred during England’s 2nd innings in IND vs ENG 3rd Test when the fast bowler got rid of the England opener. Siraj was celebrating in the face of Duckett, following which both players seems to have rubbed shoulders.
Siraj fined for shoulder barging Duckett
As per an ICC press release, Siraj has been fined 15% of his match fee as he was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of ICC’s Code of Conduct. He has also been handed a demerit point, which marks his second in the period of 24 months. Article 2.5 is related to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”
What happened between Siraj and Duckett?
The incident occured in the penultimate delivery of the 6th over. Duckett was caught out by Bumrah at mid-on off Siraj when he attempted to go on the offensive. While the Indian pacer was celebrating the wicket in a pumped up fashion, there was a breif instance when he perhaps unintentionally shoulder barged Duckett.
However, replays showed that it was Duckett who had gone towards Siraj, resulting in the shoulder barge.
Siraj provided India with a couple of early breakthroughs on Day 4. He first got rid of Ben Duckett, which was followed by the animated celebration. One main reason for the fiery celebration was the event that unfolded towards the end of play on Day 3, when Siraj – along with other teamates – was involved in an intense exchange with Duckett and Crawley.
The bowler then got rid of Ollie Pope by trapping him for a LBW in the 12th over. He finished the innings with a spell of 2/31 off 13 overs.
