Catch you win the match. And the India cricket team may have remembered that lesson. Eight catches were demolished, one wicket was missed on a no-ball and several halfs went down in the IND vs ENG 1st Test in Headingley. As a result, India lost a Test match, despite five centuries from four batsmen. There was another part of India’s defeat. Of India’s 835 runs in the Test match, the Lower Order contributed just 43 runs. India’s new Test captain, Shubman Gill, was honest in his assessment of disadvantages, convicted the lack of contribution to the lower order for poor catching and defeat.
I think it was a great Test match. We had our opportunities. But we dropped the catch and our lower order did not contribute enough. Yesterday we were thinking about 430 odd and announced. Unfortunately, we did not score runs in the end, which always makes it difficult. Just our way did not go in this match. This was something about which we talked about. This happened so soon. This can be one of the things that we have to improve the upcoming matches. Certainly, there is a possibility that these are not easy on a wicket. This is a young team, one learning to learn and hope that we will be able to improve those aspects, “ Shubman Gill said in the post -match presentation.
8 dropped catch
India was the most hurt. Were there Six dropped catch In the first innings and two in the second. Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped four of them. Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Sai Sudarshan, and Jasprit Bumrah dropped one. Bumrah was suffering on five occasions, including an opportunity for a lapse on his bowling. The results were frightening.

Whereas Bumrah defends Jaiswal And the missed opportunities, it eventually made a difference. Add about half a dozen opportunities, and the reason for India’s defeat will be clear.
“We were quite present in the first session, did not give many runs. It is difficult to stop the run after the ball is soft. Unfortunately, we did not go to our ways. They took their opportunity after the ball is old. It is in the game of cricket. You hope that everything will not go on your way,” Shubman Gill said after the match.

Combined seven other joints can manage only a total of 105 runs. Karun Nair who returned to test cricket after seven years and scored 20 and 20 runs. Ravindra Jadeja scored 11 and 25 runs. The entire lower order of India jointly scored just 43 runs, including 36 runs from Jadeja.
As a result, India went from 430/3 to 471 in the first innings, lost seven wickets for 41 runs.
