Shubman Gill becomes another Indian to score double century and ton in single test

Shubman Gill’s Fine Form also increased in India’s second innings in Eng vs Ind 2nd Test, as well as another ton with Captain Scoring

India cricket team captain Shubman Gill has etched his name in the history of Indian Test cricket. The batter has become the second Indian and 9th overall to score a double century and a ton in the same game. Previously, Gill registered his career best score of 269 runs in the ENG vs IND 2nd Test at Edgbaston.

Gill scores 200 after a ton in 1st innings

Gill took 129 deliveries to reach the triple-figure mark in India’s 2nd innings. His knock was studded with 9 fours and three sixes. Gill ensured that the runs kept flowing for India in the 2nd innings. he stitched a valuable partnership with Rishab Pant which helped India’s lead swell past the 350-run mark on Day 4 of the contest.

Gill’s hundred at the Edgbaston marks his second in the ongoing series. He has already surpassed the legendary Sunil Gavaskar to become the Indian with most runs in a Test match. Previosuly, the record was held by the Little Master for scoring 344 runs against West Indies in 1971.
