Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was stopped from a question in the toss before the IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on Monday. Former cricketer Danny Morrison, who was in the toss, asked him a strange question: “Are you looking at good, wedding bells around the corner? Is getting married soon?” Stumps from the question, Gill started blushing and then replied: “No.” Then he went to connect, “nothing like that.” This question soon went viral on social media and some social media users did not like it.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) brought Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Moeen Ali, as Captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and selected the Table-toppers first against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the match 39 of IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens. While GT, IPL 2022 winners are comfortably placed on top of the points table through five of the seven matches, defending champion KKR is ranked seventh, with three wins and four defeats in seven matches. In addition, GT leads a head-to-head record against KKR 2–1.

Gurbaz and Moane South Africa pair Quinton de Coke and Enrique Nortze, in which Angakarish Raghuvanshi is ready to come as an influence as a player. “The pitch looks towards the dryer, and when we bowl we want to see how it is behaving.”

“This is a chasing ground. We spoke after the previous game. The players are working very hard. There is an inspiration to go up the ladder. I am positive about all the players. Not very concerned about the middle-order,” Ren said after winning the toss.

GT captain Shubman Gill said that he does not expect dew in the match later. “Don’t think that there will be any dew. So it should be a good game. The way we are bowling has been very good. We are contributing with wickets. Skill sets that he (Rashid Khan, GT Vice-Captain) brings with his bowling.”
