Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakh on Wednesday for maintaining a slow rate during the IPL 2025 encounter against Chennai Super Kings. PBK registered a widespread win over CSK in the match, but Shreyas was punished as his team was not able to complete the entire quota of the overs within the stipulated time. PBK was also forced to bring an additional fielder inside the circle before the start of the 19th over, but Chahal was not prevented from claiming a luxurious hat -trick.
“Shreyas Iyer, Captain, Punjab Kings have been fined, when their team has maintained a slow rate during Chennai Super Kings at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match 49 at Chennai Super Kings.”
The BCCI said in a release, “As his team was the first offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which is related to minimum over-perpetal offenses.

Captain Shres made an excellent fifty to support Yuzvendra Chahal’s hat -trick as Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by four wickets in their IPL match on Wednesday.
Shreyas (72, 41B, 5×4 4×6) and opener Prabhasimran Singh (54, 36B, 5×4, 3×6) were the main run-producers for PBK as they overhell the target of 191 runs in 19.4 overs.
Earlier, 88 of Sam Curan helped the hosts reach CSK to a competitor 190, with Chahal taking four wickets including a hat -trick (4/32).
Karran (88, 47B, 9×4, 4×6) received good support from Developed Bravis (32, 26B, 2×4, 1×6).
For PBKS, leg-spinner Chahal was the most successful bowler as Pesar Marco Jensen also pasted some wickets.
