Shreyas Iyer, batsman, emerges as MVP of IPL 2025

With another game to go to IPL 2025, Shreyas Iyer has already done his best season, average above 50 with bat
Shreyas Iyer, the batter, has had his best IPL season so far in the ongoing edition in 2025. Putting personal milestones behind, the PBKS captain has thrived to put his team above himself. And the result? He’s not only had an outstanding season as a batter but has also ensured that PBKS are through to the final for the first time in 11 years.
IPL 2025 turns out to be Iyer’s best season
Shreyas has been in red-hot form in this season. After all, his form has been phenomenal ever since his snub from the BCCI central contracts in 2024. After consistent performances in domestic tournaments and CT 2025, IPL 2025 was the next stop for Iyer and he wasted no time in making the most of it.
Iyer already has 603 runs to his name, averaging 54.82 – his best-ever season since making his debut in 2015. He has already scored 6 half-centuries this season, with one game left to go. One of the best aspects of Shreyas’ stint in IPL 2025 is that he has always been a team player, playing very much according to the needs of the team.

Iyer leads the chart in terms of most sixes hit by a PBKS batter in IPL 2025, having struck 39 maximums.
All this apart from being the first-ever captain to lead three different sides to the IPL playoffs. On the hunt for his second consecutive IPL trophy as captain, Iyer is just one more good knock and win away from leading PBKS to their maiden IPL title after 18 years of wait.
