Should the selectors look back at Ajinkya Rahane Post Virat Kohli’s test retirement?

Rahane is an experienced of 85 tests and has visited England before.
Virat Kohli’s Test retirement has opened a place in XI, as India is in the form of gear for its tour of India. Along with Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin also left in recent times, there is a clear lack of experience as men in the blue head in the UK. And as Gautam Gambhir and selectors scramble to replace their long -time number 4, Ajinkya Rahane continues to get out in the MCA feature in Mumbai.
Can Ajinkya live up to Virat Kohli’s zero?
Ajinkya Rahane was Virat Kohli’s long-time batting partner and vice-captain. The Mumbai batsman also led India to win a famous Seema Gavaskar Trophy in Australia in Kohli’s absence, leading a young, inexperienced team. However, since the height of Gabba, Rahane has failed to cement his location in Shee for something.
The 36 -year -old was released after a forgetful tour in South Africa in January 2022, recalling for the World Test Championship Final only in 2023. He topped that game, and was the vice-captain for the West Indies tour. However, in two years, Rahane is out of India’s testing plans.
Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid and his successor Gautam Gambhir tried to host an option with limited success: Sarfaraz Khan, Rajat Patidar, Devdutt Padikkal all made their debut, while KL Rahul entered the order. Now with Virat from the picture, India’s middle order is thin and decreased experience. Rahane brings a treasure of experience after being played in England on three tourism.
Former India opener Akash Chopra said that India can see Rahen and Cheteshwar Pujara for the India vs England series.
,Can the team go in that direction? Can they think from that point of view? I am giving it a voice because it is a tour of England. If this was any other tour, I said ‘Let’s go with the children.’ However, if there are not both Kohli and Rohit, perhaps you want to think about Pujara or Rahane. Both are playing well and scoring runs, ” Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Why not keep it?
Each experienced player was once a crook, and it is time for India to move ahead of the Mumbai batsman. In England, 36 -year average 28, 38 innings with 7 50+ scores. Rahane has re -established himself in the T20 format, but his form in red ball cricket is still patch.
In this season, in the Ranji Trophy, KKR Skipper scored just 467 runs in 9 matches, which was an average of 35.92. In 14 innings, the Mumbai batsman gave only 1 fifty and 1 century. For reference, Shreyas Iyer, his team partner, scored more than an average of about twice in 7 innings.
“Sai reforms can be at number 3, then Shubman Gill at number 4, and Rishabh Pant at number 5. You can think of putting a one between Neitish Kumar Reddy, Karun Nair and Sarfaraz Khan at number 6. If you start thinking in that direction, I think the Indian team wants to go in that direction.” Chopra said.
