“Should play up to 50”: Yogaj Singh’s amazing decision on Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Test Retirement

As Indian cricket bid farewell to its two modern days, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, former cricketer Yogaj Singh from the testing field shared their emotional and critical shared on their retirement. Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Yuvraj Singh, the father of former India’s father, reflected at a potential zero, overtaking two stalls. “Virat is a big player, so it would be clearly a disadvantage,” said Yograj said, underlining Kohli’s height and impact in the longest format of the game.

He attracted similarities for India’s transition phase in 2011, “When many players were either removed, retired, or forced to retire in 2011, the team separated and still did not stand back.”

However, he admitted that “everyone’s time comes,” Yogaj believes both Kohli and Rohit have still left cricket.

“I think a lot of cricket is still left in Virat and Rohit,” he said.

Considering the exit of his son Yuvraj Singh from international cricket, Yograj commented, “I told Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) that it was not the right step when he was retiring. Someone should walk away from the field when no one can walk now.”

Yograj did not hesitate to criticize the current tendency of over-neutrality on the youth, warning that the lack of experienced leaders could destabilize the team.

“If you make a team full of youth, it will always be separated,” he said.

“Perhaps Virat feels that he has nothing left to achieve,” he said, suggesting that internal satisfaction may have affected Kohli’s decision.

Drawing his attention to Rohit Sharma, Yograj was particularly vocal, suggesting that with correct support, the Indian captain could increase his red ball career.

“I think Rohit Sharma needed only one person to inspire him daily, for example, to go for a run at 5 am,” he said.

He said, “Rohit (Sharma) and Virender Sehwag are two people who retired very quickly,” he said.

“The greatest players should play till the age of 50 … I am sad about their retirement because no one is left now to inspire the youth,” Yograj said while showing his disappointment.
