Gilgs-Alexander won the regular season MVP and final MVP this season, which became the ninth player in league history to fulfill that feat and with the Miami Heat since Lebron James in 2012-13.
“It is difficult to believe that I am part of that group. It is also difficult that I sometimes do that type of basketball player.”
The 6-Foot-6 Guard was a clear favorite to win the award if Thunder captured the championship, on average 30.3 points, 5.6 aids and a seven-game series per game 4.6 rebounds per game.
Gilgus-Alexander had a hard shooting night (8 from the ground) to close the series in Game 7, but as they did all the season, they produced from the free-thro line. In the drive, the league leader made 11 out of 12 attempts from the strip and performed his best playmaking of the final, with a playoff-career-high assisters.
“Game 6 is coming out of 6, I was very much more turnover than clearly help. It’s not a recipe for a win, and I wanted to do what he had to win tonight, wanted to do,” Gilgus-Elcajander said. “Whether he was playing in space, or it was … some of my companions were open and just trying to play the right basketball.”
With a record 72 points in his first two career final games, Gilgas-Alexander made a hot start and never looked back. His 34-Bindu performance in game 2 stepped into a tireless Indiana pacers team with Oklahoma City to prevent a 2–0 Thunder loss and avoid 3–1 in 35 in game 4.
Thunder proved to be equally difficult. He lost twice in regular session only twice in a rrhem and never lost back-to-back games in Postsen.
“We have a team full of contestants, what we did to become champions this year, and we deserve it,” said Gilgus-Alexander. “We rose at that moment, we are here.”
The native of Toronto led the 68-winning thunder team and leveraged the highest regular-season win-win win-and league in scoring 32.7 points per game since the Golden State Warriors of the regular-season MVP-2015-16.
Alexander had one of the most efficient volume scoring season of any guard in the history of NBA, posing 51.9/37.5/89.8 shooting splights, and one of the most stingiest defense in the recent league history was a solid protective piece.
In the 2018 draft, Charlotte Hornets traded the number 11 overall pick, Gilgus-Alexander on Draft Night for Los Angeles Clippers. After his fraudulent season, the clippers sent the Kentucky product to Oklahoma City in a package for Paul George, which would become one of the most successful reconstruction of the league.
Gilgeous-Aexander was a fringe all-star caliber player for three sessions, out of which Thunders won less than 30 games, until he did not move at the forefront of NBA in the 2022-23 season, average 31.4 ppg.
In the last season, he was a runner-up for MVP, while Oklahoma City was reduced by a title in the second round of exit.
A year later, Gilgus-Alexander first hoisted Larry O’Brien and the final MVP Trophy which Oklahoma City has ever seen.
