Sarfaraz Khan hit an ax from the Indian Test team as Sunil Gavaskar’s ‘Unfiltred Truth’

A new era has begun in India’s test trip, Shubman Gill has captured the team’s captaincy from Rohit Sharma, while Karun Nair and Sai Reformson have secured one place in the squad after the exit of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Without two veteran couples, India is staring at the journey of complications, now captain Gill and Vice-Quality Rishabh are Onas to lead the troops on the pants. However, a player who felt many people was incorrectly dropped against England for the 5-Match Test series, she was Sarfaraz Khan.
After working hard in domestic red ball cricket over the years, Sarfaraz finally made his way for India’s test side, which made his debut against England in February last year. However, the batsman did not play a single game in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia before being completely demolished from the team.
Ajit Agkar -led BCCI Selection Committee showing the decision to leave Sarfaraz, who had also shed a weight of 10 kg before the tour of England, was some bitter truth to share veteran Sunil Gavaskar.
“It’s difficult to, what is about cricket. When you get opportunities, you have to make sure that the place is yours. Even if you score a hundred, you should make sure that you don’t go in your next innings, thinking that you had scored a hundred score in the last knock. You have to get your eyes and you should not give a chance to give runs again.
“It is completely up to you to ensure that place cement. You need to knock on the doors and break the doors.”
Gavaskar admitted that this was a ‘tough’ call from the selectors to leave Sarfaraz after a tour of Australia as an injury could not show his looks in domestic cricket.
“I think this is a difficult call because after the tour of Australia, there was no red-ball cricket. Yes, there was a Ranji Trophy, but he was injured. So, he did not play. There was no way to show what he could have.”
He said, “You have to be unspecified. We have seen in the past, if a team loses a series, the 13th, 14th, 15th people fall in the squad. You have to take your chance,” he said.
At the press conference on Saturday, Agarkar said Sarfaraz was removed from the team as ‘run not’ after New Zealand tons.
“Sometimes you just have to make good decisions. Sarfaraz, I know that he got 100 in the first Test (vs New Zealand) and did not get runs. Sometimes it is decided that this decision is taken in team management. Whether it is appropriate on someone or inappropriate on someone, they are the options that you make in the best interest of the team,” the forear said.
