After New Orleans General Manager Mickey Lumis meeting with reporters on Wednesday Wednesday, the position of the Saints Quarterback Derek car is a bit uncertain.

Lumis confirmed that Carr was working with a shoulder injury, but also that the team is expecting more clarity about severity. Then he shut down follow-up questions, saying, “I am not going to answer more questions about Derek.”

Earlier this month, the report broke that Carr was working with shoulder injury and muling surgery, questioning his availability for 2025. The monk had not chosen the option to release or trade this offsen, reorganizing his contract earlier.

The news of Carr’s injury has made additional speculation that the monks may add a quarterback to increase the condition, through the NFL draft later this week.

Saints handle the rights of overall selection and the quarterback possibilities are associated with Shedur Sanders (Colorado) and Jackson Dart (Ole Miss).

For his share, Lumis said that the team’s draft strategy would be unaffected by Carr’s injury, saying that the situation was an important for the team to do a complete research.

Nevertheless, when asked if 2025 starter is currently on the roster in the event of a monk, Lumis immediately questioned the line.

“I am not going to answer this right now because it will give a lot of speculation in a way.”

The monk returned to Spencer Rotler, who began six games with a final decline as a cheater, as well as the third year veteran Jake Henner, who made a start a season ago. Neither was a passer -by rating above 70.4. Ratler was dismissed 22 times.

Adding bad news, Lumis also suggested that the team could be without a few time after the player’s severe knee injury (ACL tear) at the end of the previous year.

Observers do not necessarily do not have to count on the monk adding a quarterback to the draft, however, Lumis mentioned that he and the head coach Kalen Moore are first “alliances” on the commitment to the creation of aggressive and defensive lines.

Car, 34, New Orleans in two sessions is 14–13 in the form of starter, although it was limited to 10 games due to injuries in 2024.

CARR has thrown 41,245 yards and 257 for touchdowns (2014–22) and 112 for saints against 112 interception. He is a four -time Pro Bowl selection, although not with the monk, as he last created a Pro Bowl in 2022.

Lumis also announced that the monk would use the fifth year option on the broader receiver Chris Olev, but the aggressive tackle travelers drop the option on the traverse. This will expand olev through 2026 at a salary of $ 15.49 million, but painting due to $ 16.69 million to depart at the end of this season, which will allow pening.
