Rajasthan Royals scripted history by becoming the first batsman to do sixth consecutive slam in the Indian Premier League. Parag on Sunday achieved a sensational feat against Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2025 encounter. Parag, who scored 95 runs in 45 delivery, achieved milestones in 2 overs. He slammed Moin Ali for five consecutive sixes before killing Varun Chakravaradhi in sixth place on the second ball of the next over. While this was a display of pure grit from the all-rounder, it was not enough for RR as they slipped to defeat against KKR.
Andre Russell formed an unbeaten fifty of a blisters as Kolkata Knight Riders opposed the stunning 95 of Ryan Parag, which was to exclude Rajasthan Royals in an IPL thriller from one run, which survived the expectations of the defending champion’s slim playoff on Sunday.
Russell, who was under investigation for his indifferent form this season, broke the 25-goal 57, as KKR scored 85 runs in the last five overs and posted an commanding at 206/4.
In response, Rajasthan found himself in the tatters at 71/5 within eight overs and needed 105 runs from the last 48 balls, before the stand-in skipper Parag kept his hopes alive through his knock with 45 balls (6×4, 8×6).
But a change in smart bowling from skipper Ajinkya Rahane made sure that Parag had reduced his first IPL century, before Vaibhav Arora kept his veins under pressure in the final, kept RR down to 205/8.
Royals required 22 runs in the final over, but Impact Shubam Dube launched Arora for two sixes and one four brought the equation below three runs from the final delivery.
But a smart field switch by Rahen kept Rinku Singh for a long time, as his sharp throw found Arora at the end of the non-strayer who excluded Joffra Archer to seal the exciting victory.
KKR now has 11 points from several games and is in sixth position on the points table, but still needs to win the remaining three matches to smell in the play-off.
