Ryan Parag promises by hitting six consecutive sixes in 2023

Parag IPL has become the first batsman to hit 6 consecutive sixes in history.

When Rajasthan Royals (RR) decided to retain Riyan Parag for Rs 14 crore, many were doubtful. Parag had been playing for RR since 2019, but his returns were sparse. But RR had faith in the all-rounder from Assam. Not only was he retained, but he was named vice-captain to Sanju Samson. And although they have been knocked out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Parag has delivered on the promise they showed.

Parag is currently leading RR and just smashed the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in bits at the Eden Gardens. He played a proper captain’s knock. Scoring 95 from 45 balls. All other RR batters combined scored 72 runs from 61 balls. The knock was glorious to watch.

But the most incredible feat was Parag hitting six consecutive sixes at one point. It is the first time it has happened in IPL history. He hit Moeen Ali with 5 consecutive sixes in the 13th over and then smashed Varun Chakaravarthy on the 2nd ball of the 14th over to complete the feat.

Parag’s 2023 promise

This was a long time coming. Back in 2023, Parag had tweeted that he was feeling that at that point, he’d smash 4 sixes in 1 over. That season turned out to be the worst. He was dropped after scoring just 78 runs in 7 matches, hitting 5 sixes combined. Two years later, Parag has delivered on the promise he made.
