
Ryan McMahon hit a two-run double in the fifth innings to return the six strong innings from Tanner Gordon, and Colorado Rockies defeated New York Yennaks 3–2 in Denver on Friday night.
Ezequiel Tovar, Jordan Bake and Kyle farmer had done two hits and Zach Agnos saved their third for Colorado, which snatched the five-game skid.
Aaron decided between his two hits for New York, who won four directly.
Chase Dollander was originally slated to pitch for Rocky on Friday night, but was placed in the 15-day injured list with tightness in the correct cell. Gordon was remembered from Triple-A to make his second start of the season.
Gordon (1–1) gave just two runs on five hits and hit five in his six innings.
Yankis took the lead in the first innings when the judge sang and scored on the right triple of Paul Goldschmidt. It remained in that way till the fourth innings.
McMahon led with a walk, went to another place on a wild pitch by Starter Clarke Schmidt and scored in the left area on the farmer’s single. The judge placed New York back to fifth with his 17th domestic run of the season, but Rocky responded with a two-out rally at the bottom of the innings.
Tower started it with single to right, Hunter Goodman gave relief from another single and Tim Hill. McMahon hit a double at the top of the wall in the center area to bring both runners home and give Colorado 3–2 lead.
Schmid (1-2) conceded three runs on six hits and hit eight in 4 2/3 innings.
Yenki was likely to score more runs, but surrounded Rockies. There was no outsider in the fourth, but Gordon was in the first and second place to hit Austin Wales in a double play, and the judge hit another double game in the eighth, when Trent Grisome led with a walk.
