New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings captain and Vipul opener Ruturaj Gikwad has signed up with Yorkshire County Cricket Club for the rest of the season, where he will participate in both the County Championship and One-Day Cup. It has always been my goal to experience cricket in this country and there is no big club in England other than Yorkshire.
“I know how important it is that I hit the ground running on what will be an important part of the season. We have some important sports in the county championship and One Day Cup is a great opportunity to win some silverware.”Yorkshire’s head coach Anthony McGrath said: “I am very happy to see the Ruturaj sign for the second part of the season. He is a very skilled cricketer with a natural all-round game that is well suited for cricket we want to play.
“Ruturaj will give us some extra solidity in our batting lineup, while if necessary, you will have the ability to score quick runs. He is an exciting talent and I know that the whole game has been given high status. ,Cricket General Manager Gavin Hamilton said: “Ruturaj has a proven record in all formats and is a multidimensional cricketer who will greatly strengthen us in the second part of the season.“Everyone at Yorkshire CCC is excited by Ruturaj’s signature and we are ready to welcome him in July.”
