Rohit Sharma’s two-word message to Abhishek Nair by Team India by BCCI dismissed by BCCI

Abhishek Nair, who was associated with the Indian cricket team as an assistant coach for the last eight months, was dismissed by the BCCI last week. While the poor performance of the side in the Seema Gavaskar Trophy is seen as a reason behind Nair’s dismissal, some reports have made serious allegations. A PTI report claimed that after removing Nair, Cardshu Kotak was added to the assistant employees of the Indian team as an additional batting coach.

“… after the tour of Australia, a review meeting held by the BCCI. The top officials of the board, including Secretary Devjit Saikia and Vice President Rajiv Shukla, were present with important members associated with the Indian team and national selectors,” the BCCI source was said by the news agency.
“On the occasion of the meeting, a powerful member of assistant employees expressed his apprehension about Nair’s presence and said how he is proving to be an advantage of being in the dressing room.” This was a way of side-lineing Nair during the Champions Trophy, “the source said.
Now, Rohit Sharma has sent a two-word message to Abhishek Nair after his dismissal. On his Instagram story, the captain of the Indian cricket team wrote: “Thanks Bro”. Along with this, Rohit shared a picture of himself from Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings IPL 2025 match on Sunday. After a string of poor score, Rohit slammed 76* off 45 balls.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Rohit was also working with Nair during the IPL last week. In fact, they are already collaborating with the IPL. Nair has now joined Kolkata Knight Riders Support Staff.
Nair and former Netherlands star Ryan Ten Dochet joined Team India’s support staff as an assistant coach during Sri Lanka’s white-ball tour last year. Nayar and Doche also had assistant coaches in KKR and worked with Gambhir and won the 2024 IPL title with him and captain Shreyas Iyer.
